Most cartoonist blogs always show the rough sketches of their cartoons along with the finished product. I do not do that because it can get old very fast. I do like to sketch little drawings in my sketch pad; some of my scribbles usually become good cartoon ideas. An editor once told me that my rough sketches were good enough to put down on the page as is.
That did happen once accidentally, when I worked for The Philadelphia Daily News. A rough sketch was placed on the page, apparently the designer thought It was the finished art and it appeared in the paper. It looked OK. Here are a few samples.sketch file1 sketch file2Sketch file3
