Delegate Robert G. Marshall (R) Prince William County would like the state of Virginia to mint coins to use  to purchase goods and services if the U.S. economy suffers a major meltdown. His resolution passed in the House of Delegates. The same type of resolution is being considered in 13 other states. I doubt that this will become law, but with the current atmosphere in this country at the moment it makes me wonder.
We did have confederate currency during the Civil War (some people around here would love to start using that again, but that’s another story). With so many other matters needing attention it amazes me how these state legislatures seem to come up with some pretty outrageous stuff.VA Mint coins
