Pork prices are expected to jump at least 10% next year, due to the droughts in Europe and the United States. What does this mean to the consumer? Will those ham, bacon and sausage breakfast sandwiches, we love so much soon cost the price of a combo without the drink and hash browns?  Maybe this issue will get some traction in the upcoming presidential debates, considering all the products we get from hogs and the effects on the economy. Hey, Mitt, Obama where do you stand on the hog shortage situation huh? I’m sure both candidates would have something to say to reassure those who eat pork products; we are talking about a costly situation here. Nothing can get uglier than a $5.00 bag of pork rinds, or higher priced barbecue especially in the South.
